Help! Read a post on a thread about making tarps - FOUND

The post was about making tarps from a spectacle wipe - and said about painting it with a very thinned down paint, I've now used that method, and when I put up the dio that I'm doing, would like to credit the person who put it up (as it was their post that told me how to do it), but I can't find it again, tried searching under all manner of words, found a mention of the wipes by 'Beowulf', but that post didn't go into the method, so it wasn't that one - any ideas how I might find it again folks?

Gerry, not sure, but I think it might have been 'Scottie' (Paul)

I know that he put up a thread how to make them with PVA (got that bookmarked) - will try a search with him as 'author', thanks :thumb2:
Edit, can't find anything with Scottie as author using various terms :worried:

it is something i have used.......ive used all sorts of things over the years but the last time i made a tarp it was with a spec wipe...all i did was let it dry out........thinned out some acrylic paint and dipped it.....did it roughly to get some shade variation.......let it dry......then scrummpled (thats a good woody word :smiling5: )so it looked creased.....then draped it over some bits of polystyrene to to represent cargo.....dyed cotton to tie it down
        Per Ardua

We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no ones been

Or was it your post :surprised: think that I'll have to thank all of the members who have posted up 'how to' on this
Yes, needs a good 'scrummpling' though:thumb2:

Pity that you didn't say last night:smiling5:, spent ages going through your 'Flakverling' build, thinking that it was in there:upside::tears-of-joy::tears-of-joy: (was about that time that I saw the post)

That's the one! The 'how to' was in the 'completed' thread - probably why I've been missing it!
Many thanks for putting that up!

You can use apple paper if you want a larger piece.

                          Cheers,
                          Richard.
