What was most memorable about it was the fact that there were a lot of shots of actual German equipment rolling down roads etc. might have been old newsreel footage but am unsure. Has anyone else seen this movie? Rick H.
Rick, I keep that tagged for vehical reference cos was amazed by the types shown that are now coming out in kit form from the Eastern manufacturers.

          Cheers,

Bingo Richard!!!! My thoughts exactly.........the footage I saw was not your every day stuff and it intrigued the Hell out of me! I was very much into collecting the 1-87 scale Minitanks back then (nothing's changed) and I thought, wouldn't it be great if ROCO were to release some of those in their series, at some point.......well, some did and some did not appear. Sure would like to see that movie one more time....

Forgotten that one as well. Trinder, who can usually be a bit irritating, is very good in it.

I thought Tommy Trinder was merely a comedian - didn't realise he had a serious luvvie career.

He made quite a few films where he was the “comic” turn. In this one he comes across as likeable rather than irritating.

I’ll have to look that one up Gerry.....
Another Trinder one worth a look is ”The bells go down” about the AFS in the Battle of Britain.

Think that we're in danger of splitting off another thread for Ealing Comedies!
