Hi guys. Just a note to let you know I'm still about.
I saw the neurologist about my shaky hands on Tuesday. The good news is that it is essential tremors and not something serious like a tumour or summat. The better news is that he thinks it can be controlled by medication so no nasty surgical stuff. The not so good news is that it's apparently quite fiddly to set the dosage of the medication correctly. Too much or too little doesn't do much good. The idea is to start me on a small dosage and gradually build up to the correct amount - which could take a few months.
So it looks like I'll be back at the bench, but not sure when.
PS. For anyone out there who likes a good Sci Fi story, I've been doing a lot of reading recently and come across a couple of really good stories:
Fadeout by Patrick Tilley
The Trigger by Arthur C Clarke & Michael Kube-McDowell.
Both are well written and have lots of thought-provoking ideas - well worth a punt for those who prefer their Sci Fi to be serious.
Not like Star Wars - the Emperor could have kept his empire if he'd just taught his troopers to shoot straight instead of wasting all that time and effort on Death Stars!
