Had a wee bit of a disaster whilst building a 1/72 Hasegawa Lanc B1. The mid upper turret is quite fiddly (especially with a couple of broken fingers) to assemble, so being the ham fisted bod that I am I just got on with it, result was I have managed to get glue fumes inside the turret which has consequently fogged. Has anyone got a quick fix or do I need to buy another turret?

Hi jeff , sounds to me like the only way to improve the appearance would be to take off the turret and try and polish the inside back to clarity. That, however would be a very difficult task , maybe some of those really fat cotton buds and a bit of toothpaste would do it. Put the cotton bud in the turret and spin it round with a bit of toothpaste on it ,hopefully it will polish out the fogging. Failing that , put out an appeal on the forum for a spare turret, perhaps someones got one in the spares box? hope this helps , cheers tony

As luck would have it, eldest boy got an Airfix 1/72 Lanc B111 for Christmas, low and behold it has a mid upper turret that is included in the kit, but not required. With a bit (!!!!) of work it should fit the Hasegawa kit, although the profile is slightly different, but I can live with that...Comment
