    Fine sandpaper

I've seen people on these threads and in Airfix Model World magazine mention 1000 and 1200 sandpaper but I'm having difficulty tracking any of it down. The finest I can find is 600!! This stuff seems to be harder to find than a redneck at a Village People concert.

Does anyone have any clues as to where to find it? I've done all of the obvious stuff (you know, gone to DIY stores) but to no avail.

What grade of sandpaper do you use?

Hi drew , you can get most grades of wet and dry paper at car spares shops or halfords, anything from 200 grit to 1200. I usually get a pack of 1200 from halfords . which will last me ages as i do most of my wet sanding with sanding sticks. You can get a good assortment of sanding sticks from the online shop here. cheers tony

Micromesh sanding sticks & pads are great, from 100 to 16000 grit! They've lasted for 3 years now, I just wash them when they're clogged up.

Auto stores!! Of course hno: why didn't I think of that (well probably because I do not drive so don't have much reason to go into these places).

Anyway, SWMBO needs some new mats for the car so I'll no doubt be there soon.

                May look at ebay too.

                Thanks
