Unfortunately the 'twisted fire starter' is unable to reply. He's sat in a corner rocking back and forth repeating "Must not play with matches. Must not play with matches!"

From a technical point of view there are some serious temperature ranges in play here. The bright orange of most wood flames is due to the presence of sodium, which, when heated, emits light strongly in the orange. The blue in wood flames comes from carbon and hydrogen, which emit in the blue and violet. Copper compounds make green or blue, lithium makes red.
You see there is more to this than meets the eye.:nerd:

You really shouldn't put temptation like this in front of John. You wouldn't wave a bottle of whisky under the nose of an alcholic now would you? Matron and her staff are doing their best but can do without being undermined by photos like this. John's earlier post show the level of his addiction to all things combustable. If we hear on the news that a large area of Lincolnshire has gone up in flames and John is found dancing around the embers with an empty box of matches in his pocket you'll have only yourselves to blame.
