A long time ago, before i was a member Nigel.D started a competition to win an airbrush for the person with the best workbench (or something like that)

im sure there are lots of you that remember, but for those of us who werent around to be a part of it, here is a thread where everone can post a picture of their workbench.

sorry, no competition lol.

Here is my shed....

I made a room over my garage(carport)

The room is about 30m2

It's not at it's present stage as you might can see of the models.

Now it's a bit more messy and the T40 is under production.

That's a nice little spot Johnny, a nice view of the world as well! I love the paint tin rack.

What is the aircraft on the shelf, looks like a Beaufighter or something similar?

Here is mine, not a workbench but a workshop.

I call it the squeeze, because it is all in a 16ft by 9ft sectional that I built and fitted out myself, there is a double socket every four feet around the walls, a total of 11, so I can basically park my bum anywhere and work.

The boat end is slowly being shut down due to me not being able to handle the very small parts any more, and the weight of the boats. A new lathe will be going in there.

The standard has just been raised, Barry, Johnny and Bogstandard(John) are just amazing and it's hard to choose between them, I've just been moved in to the smaller bedroom so my son can have the 2nd room, so I don't have no where near as much room as I used to.

Mine has progressed a bit since the last time. I now have a couple of sets of shelves in the garage to accomodate the ever growing fleet and a new lathe and milling machine. Not quite up to Bogstandards level but OK for my bits and bobs.

The other side has now aquired a kitchen unit to make the boat on which is a major improvement as I can now walk around the model without having to take it off the bench every time.

very nice all of you!!! better than my almost 1m sq working space!!! i do sometimes use the kitchen "breakfast bar" and i spray in my booth in the garage but to be honest i like to model in my room as i have a lot of reference material on my computer at close hand...and i can have my music playing on my computer!

having looked at these pictures i need to tidy my benches up, - yours are all far tidier than mine !

i have a sign somewhere on my bench but i cant find it...... ( the wife bought if for me- ' A cluttered desk is the sign of a genius')

will take some pictures and then you can all sleep easy.....i'll shop you cluttered but organised chaos !

I did some work on improving my workbench space today. I purchased some shelf brackets from IKEA and mounted those to the legs of my table, enabling me to fit another worktop underneath the tabletop. Pretty much doubles up the space available for "junk". I made a tray from some Exterior Ply and some hardwood, this sits on the tabletop and when you need to clear away for another job it sits under the worktop.

I think I'll make another couple of those trays. They are ideal for helping to double up the available bench space and help to organise the tools you use on various jobs too.

I also cnc'd some little compartmentalized trays for storing Lathe Tools and Micro Drill bits, milling cutters etc. Being able to find stuff - should help make all those little repetitive Lathe jobs a little easier too.

Now I do like those little wooden tool boxes. You would never believe it but I rescued a couple of large wooden catering tea boxes which are beautifully finished and split into compartments for the differrent tea flavours. I use one of them for my tools and stuff for the lathe and miller and the other one for boat materials such as rigging etc.

I have a thing about boxes, you can never have enough!!

Here is our building/decalling and delicate paint area. We have a computer near us so we cam look at reference stuff, mighty handy for those ejector seats or decalling Pan Am stuff.
