I have kept in touch with Simon's two sisters. Jo and Sal, over the past year. This morning I sent them this email.

    Hi
The anniversary of Simon's passing. A very sad day for all. Many of his friends on the forum will be thinking of him today. Our thoughts are with all his family and friends.
Although Simon was taken far too young his fellow modellers will always be thankful for his help, humour and friendship. He was one of the very best.
    Take care.
    Jim

Thanks so much for getting in touch Jim. We really appreciate it.

Today must have been rough for his family and I'd like to think that knowing people on the forum still think of him is some small comfort. I know that Sal and Jo look in on the forum occassionally.

Great tribute Jim, I was at awe on how he could slice a tank in half just to add 3mm to correct its width. Sadly never had a chance to see him finish his huge Super Sherman...fully scratchbuilt. Can't miss as this date is just a day after my birthday but not forgotten. RIP Simon.
