Having recorded this, I've just got round to watching it. - Not being a Model Railway fan, I wasn't really interested in the subject, I was disappointed that the program jumped from the design to the finished product, missing out all the manufacturing steps, which would have been interesting, no matter what he finished product.
Hopefully, the next episode, the Corgi Bristol Fighter in 1/48, may be a bit more in depth...................

Dave, this series they appear not to be mentioning that the previous 3d design was all in India ( if I remember correctly ) and production in China.
Same problems last series with stuff being wrong, and I mean wrong compared to the 3d designs they supplied the manufacturers with, including colour schemes.
Man complains that his mother couldn't afford to buy him a train set, so he makes a train that is going to cost more than most people spend in a year on their hobbies. ( and make it limited production to make it a collector's piece )Comment

Just watched the latest episode - again, very disappointing! The Corgi 1/48 Bristol Fighter was featured - but again, it really went from the 3D scanning to essentially the finished production model arriving in its' box. No production details at all. No mention of how the Brisfit was selected as a model, or where it was actually manufactured ( as Gary suggested above?). Nice enough model, retails at about £70.....................reminds me, I have a Roden version in the stash.
Might not bother to record the rest of the series...............

I was impressed ( not ) with the poor use of a lidar unit.
The photographs would have been more useful as a massive chunk of data was not recorded by the lidar.
They constantly have models ( pre-production/test ) sent to them that are incomplete ( series 1 had a funnel at the wrong angle ) , so either 1. the company they use is very poor at converting the 3d masters to a model, or , 2. the 3d models they supply to the manufacturers are incomplete.
Joke? I have seen elsewhere is that one program is all about humbrol ...... will it be watching paint dry ?Comment

Was really looking forward to watching this series,but after being so disappointed in the first two episodes,I guess it's just not aimed at my interests or curiosities. therefore....

These days, I very rarely watch any "live" television - I record all the programs I'm interested in - like a drama series, I'll record the entire series before watching any of them - occasionally I realise that the series is rubbish during the first episode & delete the other episodes without watching them!! Joys of having a recorder in my bedroom, and one in the living room - I can theoretically record 4 programmes simultaneously - but how many times are there 4 interesting programmes on the box at the same time? ( Hasn't happened yet! )

HI Guys all whats been said is spot on an there is no subtitles for us hard of hearing people an i have now deleted the proggrame from my dvd recorder also as like Dave has said mostly repeats an rubbish programs on now an jen an i spend more time watching dvd films now than normal telly but she likes constapation street emererdail which i think is rubbish so im on here while they are on as this site is far more intresting to me

I do the same as Dave, set my PVR to record anything I want to watch, to watch when I want to and rarely do I have more than half-dozen programmes set at one time.
As for Hornby, I have no real interest in model railways but I have found the programme watchable. The part on the Bristol Fighter, though superficial, was the more interesting so far. We have to remember that the programme has been edited and produced for a wider audience than modellers and it is what non-modellers think is what people will find interesting. I will stick with it.Comment
