    Number of Kits

Hi, the other day, whilst trying to tidy up my model room, I discovered I had 49 unmade kits. I thought I had about 15 - 20.
So I got to thinking, others could have similar senarios.
It might be an interesting bit of fun to try to see what an average number of kits a modeler has, as opposed to what they think they have.
Obviously some will have very few, but it could be possible some may have 100+, although where one would store them
    is another question.
    Just a bit of fun.

      Second that xD

I have so many ideas and watch a lot of documentaries, so I have quite a stash. I hope to build many in the future though, fingers crossed!

        Stuart,
well, to be honest, I don't know. I've never kept track - and to save space, 2 or more models may share the same box. I reckon on 150+.
I live by myself, so storage isn't a factor. I reckon I've built up this stash over the past 15 years. Of course during this time I've probably built over 180 odd models. I don't restrict myself to one genre (but never science fiction! ). Now, I only buy out-of-the-ordinary models, and never pay the retail price ( who does? ). Part of my enjoyment is getting a model at a good discount :smiling4:

I have never seen the need to build a stash as I only buy things I really want to build now. Not a fan of wings, ships or most afv's the result being that I have 4 boxes under the bench, but I am always on the lookout for unusual stuff like construction equipment, oddball tractors, etc but that stuff is thin on the ground.

          Andy.

            Andy.
Hasegawa do some nice 1/35th construction/farming models, very Japanese orientated , but some clever machines.

Search results for construction machine (hasegawa). Japanese and overseas military Scale Model Kits such as AFV tanks, battleships, and fighter planes etc. in various scales.

Went a bit OTT at the return , but since then have tried to restrain from buying some kits. Have week moments, then once I find that it has undoable tracks regret sets in.
Have about 20 full kits and numerous boxes of part used figures. Still at 73 don't want to have too many, as Christine keeps asking what should she do with the every thing :anguished: !

I'm with you on that, Andy. I'd much prefer to make civilian stuff than military.

My 'stash' comprises one box of tabletop miniature figures, one motorcycle and one car - and that's it!

I usually start them as soon as they arrive then finish them as needed. A 1/87 helicopter and a 1/72 truck (gift) are the only "in the box" items in my model stash.

                    28... I just can't resist charity shop/boot sale bargains!
I really should get on with building some.

I stopped at 10 kits plus a couple of figures... and a lot of efforts to limit the stash to that level as I'm a rather slow builder who loves too much on line catalogs and hobby stores.

My problem is Ooohhh, Shiny syndrome…….
I build a new subject, say civilian cars, enjoy it, start another build, buy a few similar kits to follow on, then am attracted elsewhere by, Ohhh, shiney….never built one of those…..
So I go on to the next subject, repeating the purchase pattern while the last few purchases sit in the stash….
Eventually I hope the cycle comes around again and I can revisit the stash for subjects without buying more….hasn’t happened yet though :loudly-crying: :loudly-crying: :loudly-crying:
That is why I don’t want to count them up…..it will probably be north of fifty, and that’s embarrassing….

Problem is that some of the kits i want to build, rarely come up to buy. So when they do. I make an effort to get them. Hence why i have a stash.
