They spray very well, diluted with AK Real thinner to milk consistency. When dry the coat has a slightly satin finish, which is not bad for wingy things. No peeling when removing masking (tested with bluetac, Tamiya and commercial masking tape).
Airbrush cleaning can be fairly compared to cleaning classic Humbrol enamels.
Testing the compatibility with other kind of colours I discovered they do not react very well to alcohol based acrylics as the AK coat revives and fades. Water based acrylics work without any problem.
Not yet tested with enamel and oil based washes.
This morning I tested the reaction to decals and decal softening products (Tamiya and Humbrol) without the classic clear protective undercoat: apparently no problem with both fluids but I'll check again tomorrow for weird reactions and/or silvering (decals were Airfix and very very old...).

Sorry for my late answer but I just tested some AK real colours, the RAF early war camouflage set.

I used to save up for the day out at Telford not for kits but all thoes top up things brass rod plastic card plastic strip ,razor saw blades paint sets brushes scalpel blades new interesting products all the stuff you don't think of at home till its not in your armory anymore ,any change was then spent on plastic. Let us know how the spending goes. Dave
Well, the Birthday modelling "Tokens" have been spent, and the last of the items arrived yesterday,so here are the resulting goodies:money-face: ........
..... I pondered over various sites, and,on line auctions for many an hour before deciding on,and/or winning,(or not!!),bids:nerd:,
I went for a selection of kits and "Stuff" rather than blowing it all on one kit,and ended up with quite a varied selection ...........
First up,........
couple multi packs of replacement blades,(a real "Must" if you ask me),and a nice camo mask set for my Defiant:hungry:,next, some 1/48th 3D printed pilots,2 types....... one with "Mask on" and one with "Mask off",they`re quite nice, but look a little "Chunky" when compared to say,Tamiya pilots. Also 1/48th Extradecal Swastika set, although due to the various sizes i reckon some will be handy for other scales:thumb2:.....
now a plane that i`ve wanted for ages, but could never decide on which kit....... until now.......
Finally,I`ve seen a lot of the guys building Ships lately and have often thought,"I quite fancy trying something different". That in mind i saw a "Job Lot" on the Bay that is Evil...... Seller asked £135 B.I.N...... or starting bid £50..... I placed said £50 and ended up the only bidder.....
This next 5, Yep FIVE ,kits arrived together yesterday........
At first glance they look to be quite nice, and a fairly simple build..... and at 5 kits for £50,well,what`s not to like!!
So there you have it,a rather eclectic mix of stuff, but i`m rather chuffed..... All came in under my £100 Birthday Budget....... even have enough left to celebrate with an Ivor Dewdney`s "Giant Peppered Steak Pastie"
HAPPY DAYS !!Comment
