Different business model Jim, RM have to deliver to any UK address and won't take "risky" consignments, whereas the couriers won't deliver to remote locations but will carry a wider range of items. There might also be an insurance issue.

That makes sense now Peter. When we lived on an island in the Outer Hebrides RM charged the standard rate whereas ordering from a supplier who used a courier was often prohibitively expensive.
We may have gripes with RM but if they weren't there people living in very rural, way out places would be at the mercy of very high costs.

I think it’s a legal issue more than a business model Pete. Restricted Hazmat items are simply not allowed in the regular postal stream.
Courier firms run an on demand system, not a timetabled service. This enables them to run with drivers and handlers that are appropriately trained, the vans clearly marked, and the correct spill kits to be carried.
I know the dispatchers at my old place of work had to be named individuals. They had to be listed in our written procedures and had to undergo regular refresher courses so they could dispatch anything contained in the hazmat listings. Courier firms probably run similar systems.

And a lovel set of resin exhausts. Great aren’t they……trouble is, if I use them in the build they will be completely invisible :flushed: :flushed:

Hi Tim
Looks as if the PE set has dials for radios etc. Very useful. The am exhausts have hollow ends - that alone is worth having.

Very nice stuff there Tim. I'm still trying to find canopy masks for my 1/48 Revell kit. No one at the show had any and Eduard etch stuff was also absent on the stands.......

Prost

Cheers Jim. Yep, hollow ends is exactly why I bought them…….have a look at the mossy image in the decals and the box art though. They have anti flash covers so can’t be seen….

Canopy masks save so much time I always find them worth the effort. Not sure if Eduard or Montex do them for the Revell kit Allen. The Tamiya set might work for it though? They are the same scale so should be pretty much identical. Being in the EU you should be able to order direct from the manufacture :thumb2:

I see. I haven't got that far with mine. I'll have to have a look to see if that's common to all Mossies :rolling:

Probably standard fittment on anything used for night ops Jim. Exhaust flash would both blind the crew and give away the aircraft position to the enemy…..not sure where to get definitive info though.

Got this yesterday, from a kind friend with a 3D printer:

Hubs for the discs in the T1E1 mine roller I’m building, because the parts in the conversion set are not up to scratch at all.

I think for add-ons and the like at least for the immediate future..... For bulk and whole kits not yet? But I may be wrong. Night Shift did a 1/35 AMX something or other that was 3D printed... Cost was around £150 IIRC....
