There is no free dental care in DK most odd. Everything else is covered by the heath service, You have to pay for medicine though. But Dental care is 100% private.

So looks like my new airbrush will have to wait a bit yet.

Dental care is fast going the way of the opticians in the UK, and basic audiological care has also pretty much gone the same way over the last few years. Soon none of these services will be available via the NHS, only via private clinics.
No GP surgery now gives basic earwax removal treatment, for example, so the only option is private clinics. The last time I had this done, the clinic was actually located in an NHS cottage hospital, and appeared to be run by an NHS staff member :anguished:
As to opticians, if I added up what I’ve spent over the years, I wouldn’t just be able to buy a 1/32 kit Lancaster, I could pay for a top line builder to build it, and to go on and build all the others in its squadron……I need complex (read as very expensive) corrective lenses and there is no subsidy on them at all. They usually come in at around four figures…..
The trouble with dentistry is that when you really need it, you really need it. If you aren’t registered it can be very difficult to get anything done about the pain. I would register with a private clinic Chris, then at least you can go somewhere relatively quickly if you’ve got raging toothache……

Optician tests are free in Scotland as are doctor prescriptions. Dentists aren't though

Eye tests are free in England if you have a family history of Glaucoma, and probably other eye conditions. They don't check, although I'm sure nobody would claim their parent had glaucoma unless it was true...

Always thought it weird that there is an accepted eyesight standard for driving, but people can go a whole lifetime without getting an eye test…..even when they were free it wasn’t a requirement.
Yet other illnesses are reportable and can result in removal of your licence if you fail to keep the treatment up…..

At least, that is what it would have looked like, if it had come in the original box! An ebay swoop, no box, partly started. Most parts on sprue - all aircraft ( all pre-war biplanes ) present & correct! Another gamble that looks like it paid off <£15 delivered ( I'm sure my luck will change! )
