That’s the popular version, but in reality it had various reasons for failing. The main one seems to be that the dogs had not been trained to run under moving tanks while there were guns going off all around them, and so either got confused or scared, or both, so didn’t fulfil the function they had been trained for.

Nah Dave, I had hoped you get the fig of the guy ready to whip it out and pee on the roadwheels. The guy squatting on the left looks like he's doing #2 too............Strange poses, I think......

I remember it well Jim, great model.
My version was moored outside 'The Clacker' pub and owned by Idu. I remember we all had a great laugh contributing nonsense to the 'Script' during the build......
You will be pleased to know the model is still in that awful red plastic!

The one on the right of the picture looks odd, yes — if there had been a mirror on the side of the tank it would make sense, but like this? He looks like he’s examining the surface finish of the tank, so maybe he’s a modeller taking the opportunity to inspect the real thing up close?
The other one left has a bit of a strange pose, it’s not quite the normal Arab relaxed squat, he looks more like he’s sitting on something. But that something must be hidden by his robe because the embankment he’s on doesn‘t seen high enough for him to actually sit like he is.Comment
