    AIMS to close;

    I was at the hospital yesterday to see the latest MRI reports and received the sickening news that I have the rare Kienböck's disease! 3 out of the 8 bones in each hand have large cysts in them as the bones are being killed. There is no cure and it is progressive. So this together with carpal tunnel syndrome has basically stopped my life in its tracks these last 15 months and it is now impossible to continue with AIMS. I am still trying to process the shocking news and as the only way to slow it down is to do almost nothing I have to decide how best to use the years I have left with my hands as they are before they get worse. I am in terrible pain 24/7 and there is currently no medication to help this condition. It is a bitter blow for me as I had hoped limiting distribution to just Hannants would enable me to keep going but I cannot even fold an A-4 paper in half without difficulty and can hardly drive so I need to make plans to stop."

    Personally i am gutted. Pastor John's products are great and i have two of his Ju88 conversions to use up
    Alan,
    This is terrible news my heart goes out to you mate.

      Lads, read it again….it’s the owner/producer of AIMS models that has this terrible illness, not Alan himself….

          It confused me at first too. [ICODE][quote][/ICODE]-tags around the quote might have helped

            I dont think the need for the Quote tag was really that needed.
            It is always a bad day when a niche business in our hobby closes, but somehow even worse when it is due to illness so bad that the person can not carry on.

                  There is, yes. But it is clearly very easy to read over that part (I know I did at first, and so did several others by the looks of it).

                      On the Trumpeter/HobbyBoss Facebook page - It seems that T/HB are now associated with the 'I Love Kit' brand - I don't know if this is a new thing, but it is the first time that these models have appeared on the T/HB Facebook page
                      All in 1/35, and all new moulds, according to Scalemates

ID:	1176516Nice to see all views for a camouflage scheme ( last pic ) too many times you're left wondering 'what the other side looks like'
                      I Love Kit have their own website - nothing about a connection with Trumpeter or HobbyBoss

                                It's a rebox of an earlier ICM model - I made it under the catchy boxing ' Lastkraftwagen 3,5 t AHN ' - a very nice model - but the complete engine is a bit of a waste - no bonnet to show open!
