Hospital diagnosis.

Went yesterday to see the neurologist about a possible Parkinson's disease diagnosis and was told I do not have it, however...I do have essential tremor which is common but, normally after 60ish. I have had it in my 40's and am now into my 50's.

For those that don't have it it is a progressive neurological disease, no cure and, as luck would have it, I cannot have meds due to all the other stuff I am on causing severe side effects. I am also have cramps that they are looking into at some future date.

I now have a excuse for making glue bombs :tongue-out2:

sorry to read that - a friend of mine suffers from it ( he's in his 60's ). He has tremors in his right hand, and he effectively trained himself to use his left hand, but other than that seems to be coping - I believe it's hereditary?
A diagnosis removes the fears of the unknown...............

At least you know what it is. Really bad luck though, especially for someone who’s hobby depends upon fine motor skills. Hope you get a better prognosis going forward, and at least some of this can be alleviated.

DITTO Si WHAT Anderw said above an i hope you can manage as i think i have essential tremor' s as i get the shakes when im doin somthing really tricky but mine earnt all the while thank goodness but hope you get over it

I got the same problem Si so I can sympathise. Good that it's not Parkinson's of course, but frustrating because in my case it's only just bad enough to cause problems - if it wasn't for the modelling I would probably not have bothered to get treatment. I'm lucky that I can take meds to help control it although I still haven't got the dosage sorted.

Cheers guys, problem is, a lot us have various issues and when you be messing with plastic, etch, glue etc it can end up...well, in my case wrecked and rusty.

Appreciate you stopping by and commenting, this site has always been my fave and my main one, despite not being on as much as I would like. It has always had that proper community feel and members can just let folk know what they have wrong or if they are down etc. There is never any putdowns, just help and support if needed and not just for modelling.
