    family news

    hi guys.

just wanted to let you all know that i got some news the other day.

i am going to be a dad!

i know im only 21 and i have my life ahead of me but i have been with my girlfriend for nearly 4 years. i hope i am mature enough and am sure i will be able to cope!

she is only 5 1/2 weeks along so far so its early days. anything could happen (lets hope not though) going to see the midwife today so we will see what she says!

any tips and pointers from you more experience people would be most apreciated lol.

congrats to you both......i am well chuffed for you both- well done DAD !!!!!

i am dad to two little ' uns....

parenthood...........its the most rewarding job you'l ever take on !- its also the hardest !

both of mine are fairly young so not yet hit the 'teenage and attitude years'... but i am sure i have some fun times ahead !

advice... the only bit of advice i offer is - enjoy every minute of it, they grow up fast-

i remember our first being born...it seems like only yesterday....

i was the first to hold him as it was an emergency c section and they were still stiching the wife back up.... i cried when i held him !!!!!- i also nearly cried the first day he went to school !- your love for those little people is immense... but time sure does fly by

and the other thing is get involved from the start and stay that way, the good lady will need some help and support and once the little un' is here then you'll both need help support from each other and you'l need SLEEP !!!!

    - plus you might as well set up a direct debit now to mothercare/ boots/ local chemist ..... these little people wade through tons of baby gear !

great news, and all the best..... its great being a DAD !

      Congratulations Richard!

Not having any of my own kids but from working in a school where I have 26 kids in a class. I'd suggest:

Take as many photos when they are little - they grow up so fast!

Get some video of them doing the firsts - first steps, first spoonfull of food to reach the mouth etc! This is just so you can show them the film and embarass them when they are older!

Get some of the toys you always wanted as a kid yourself!

Get them into making things when they are little - that way they hopefully wont grow up fixed to a video game and unable to survive without a computer screen!

      :regards:

Heartiest congratulations Richard, all the very best to you both. Now we know why you have been doing less modelling recently. You may as well sell off all your old kits, tools and materials as you won't be needing them for about another 15 years or so!

I'll give you a good price for the lot!!

You life is about to change, enjoy it!

                      Congratulations from me too,

I am sure that you will be a good dad, As Alan says above, I would make the most of the opportunity and buy all the toys you never had as a kid as you have the perfect excuse to "test" them out first now and who knows maybe the little one will join us on here when they are older and building their own models..??

I wish you and your partner all the best

                      Regards......Mark

                        hi guys

thanks for all the kind words and encouragment. i am looking forward to it alot! told her mum today, she was very happy and said she will give all her support. i know people say you should tell people so early on incase the worst happens, but what is she going to say when a midwife turns up at her door next week to see my girlfriend (Zoe) lol.

as for getting all the toys. dont worry, i plan on it!!!

and as for selling my models. no way lol. i have 7 1/2 months to carry on building, and then i will still try and squeeze a few hours a week in if i can. if not, i will happily store it all away and carry on when i get my life back lol.

                        sorry Richard.

if your missus is called zoe, you are home and dry fella (mines zoe too! )

dont sell off your models..... just think of all those sleepless nights in about august whilst the baby is crying... build your models then......!

and as for your tag line......One finished model...5 O'Clock in the morning!- 5 am... you wish, it'l be 3am, 2 am 5am is nearly morning !!!!!
