Eunice paid a visit

She’s still here as I’m typing this, but this is what she looked like this afternoon:

It was not that easy to stay standing, as demonstrated by these people:

And in places, it even turned into a veritable sandstorm:

Been very windy where I am, sounded like a jet engine blowing through the trees next to work all day, expecting chaos on the journey home but a couple a wheelie bins in the road was about it.

Hardly any wind here but we've got about 6.5" of snow instead

Here in Shropshire things were a lot better than the forecast suggested. Poor devils in London though - roof of the O2 Arena badly damaged. Been bad in the SW as well.

Been a day of very high winds, birds staying put , with all but the hardy attempting to fly. We live on the outskirts of the town in Lincs to the north and the wind hits this end first. Been better since they have built another 200 houses to the north of us again so they will be having the wind straight off the fields and A1
This time of the year we expect these winds, there will be some work for the fencing contractors and roofers by tomorrow.

Literally, just up the road from me - luckily no-one seriously hurt - surprisingly no power cuts! Hit it's peak between 11-12, but now calm................

It's been fairly windy here in Yorkshire, my Mum is worrying as we have to go up to Scotland on Sunday for a funeral.

Should be fine up here. Our road has been ploughed and gritted already and i live in the middle of nowhere.

Thanks Alan, I was a little concerned about going up to Scotland with the weather, driving my elderly parents.
