After a very windy night happy to report no damage and no trees blow down... Yet. We have a fir tree about 25ft plus that is top heavy with ivy. The storm has pushed it to a permanent 35deg. lean.
Unfortunately leaning in the direction of the rhododendrons, Japanese maples and our temple tree.
Hopefully the wind is gone tomorrow then the chainsaw will be coming out!

Hope everyone in its path is safe and sound.

Well, I missed all this, mostly due to Eunice……within a mile of my house there were at least a dozen full size beech trees down across the roads. Some roads were still closed when we went out for a meal last night….firewood should be a bit cheaper next year Not much damage here, but we had two panes of glass sprung out of the greenhouse without breaking. They are now back in with double the recommended number of clips. No power in the whole area for about twenty eight hours though…..worst bit was not having my CPAP kit when I slept last night. I’d forgotten how annoying sleep apnea is when untreated. For those that don’t know, you sometimes momentarily stop breathing when you are asleep. I kept waking up after dreaming I was drowning…….a bit disconcerting to be honest :worried:

Damage here wasn’t heavy, though I did see more broken roof tiles on the ground, and missing ones on houses, than I have ever seen after a storm before. Still, none was more than maybe a dozen on a house, so all easily fixed. The storm hit other parts of the country harder, according to the news, so I guess we had a lucky escape. Once again proving that Zeeland is the best part of the Netherlands to be in — as if that needed to be proved

Interesting Jakko. About fifteen miles away from me (according to the news) the storm blew the top off of a church spire. Never seen that before myself….

Noticed on the local My Street people asking for fencing contractors. Wind had been bad, luckily no damage to report at Race Towers . Though the constant rain caused the pond to start to overflow, so reversed the output to pump some water on to another part of the garden , don't want any fish thinking about escape !

John, did any ride a motorbike and try to jump the barb wire? I'd check for underground tunnels and count them. :tears-of-joy:

Ha, nice one, no all present and correct at the last roll call .

Think we're lucky here Richard, I remember two Typhoon's when living in HK , quite frightening when you see roofing sheets flying and shantytowns being distroyed by landslides. Interesting to see that a large section of bamboo scaffolding on the Peninsula Hotel battered but still standing and the steel one next to it lying in the street . All the sand in Repulse Bay disappeared and replaced with stones ! I can remember this as if it was yesterday, and that was in the 60's
