Moving things from forum to forum....Help please.

I'm getting my house in order - Or trying to!

Going through my 'Stuff' I've noticed (amongst other things), I haven't put some finished models in 'Completed'- G.B.'s or otherwise.
An example being our good buddy, the late Simon 'T's Memorial Gallery, which I've just rectified.

    My question is.
As loads are stuck in 'Builds', is there a way to quietly move my finished pictures to their correct location without having to bore folks by having to open them up in real time and as a consequence resurrect possibly long gone builds that folks will have possibly seen before, simply in order to get them to where they should have gone in the first place?

Rather than the whole thread, it's really just pictures of the finished models and a few words that I need to post to the relevant 'Completed' sections.

I hope the above makes sense.

If there is a solution, please make it simple to understand, as I'm useless with computer jargon and even worse at finding my way around the wretched thing ( Which, by the way, I'm usually perfectly happy with) Until summat like this crops up, that is.... :upside::upside:

    Cheers.
    Ron

Thanks Alan, but it's probably a fair old list, so I'll have to decline, as I'm sure you good folks have better things to occupy your good selves into the wee small hours.

Is there deffo. no way I can sort it out from this end?

Send a PM to John or Ian. They have far more permissions than i do so they might be able to move things easier.

You don’t have permissions to moved threads and I can’t change it as it affects everyone

I can split things out from a post and move them, but I need a thread to post them to.
You could start a thread in the place you want to have them and send a list to me so I can merge them...

You don’t need an existing thread to move posts to, you can start a new one from the page that lets you move posts. The first post in this new thread will be the oldest post from those you’re moving.

This will cause problems: posts appear in their original chronological order, so the new post that starts the thread would appear after all the posts that got moved into it.

So I'll just find all the threads that Ron has started and then find the ones I think should be moved.

Although I might not have typed my question very clearly, you are spot on 453, that is what I want to do- Simply create a new post in 'Completed' but......

.....I know how to do it 'The normal way', but I just wondered if there was a way to do it without the need to bore folks who might have seen the images before during the build and for me to just quietly save the photos in 'completed' without them having to re-appear in 'Recent' or 'new posts'

I do hope people are not getting a nose bleed with this drivel. if you are, please accept my synseer appalogees.

Not a tall 570 , the one I saw earlier for Simon's build was great to see again .
Think I see what you mean, but If you a post on the completed page it will come up as a new posting. It's up to people if they want to see it, so don't worry .

Unfortunately you can't be discreet in computered web forums unless it is specifically programmed I think. The moment you paste or alter an old post it's layered up to the front as the latest posting until someone else posts ahead of you and so on and so forth.

                          Cheers,
                          Richard

I just wonder why you should imagine we wouldn't want to be reminded of some of your earlier builds. I'd be happy to have another look.

It would seem the only way do do this is like you good people have suggested.- New postings.

Either way up, thanks for all your helpful input, much appreciated.
