The BAE Hawk T1's that have always been a pleasure to see flying around down here are leaving our local airbase, RNAS Culdrose.
I wasn't aware of the reason until I checked the local news but they were giving it the absolute beans across the sky this afternoon. Proper full chat, white exhaust ports, low level stuff. Never seen the like of it.
Turns out they were doing a final blast around Cornwall before retirement. It's 25 miles by road from ours to Penzance, maybe a couple less as the crow flies. Takes 45 minutes in the car, took them about 3 minutes.
