    Speed and depth

I am building a scale model of an underwater towed body ( similar to submarine but towed ) I have scaled the size to 1 tenth the original size and now need to give it a test trial in a tank. The full size vehicle will be towed at 10 to 12 Knots and at a depth of 500m. With this scaled down size I am not sure what to do with the depth and speed. The weight I have scaled down by 1000. Any Ideas ??

Hi Mike, we have a few subs in our club, i think the depth you can achieve will be determined by the inherant boyancy of the towed vehicle plus the speed at which you tow as diving on controlled planes only will be prone to porpoising, suggest you look around the club webb sites and see if any near you have any sub specialists, regards, Aquarama.
