I've only recently returned to the hobby about a year ago now. Since coming on the forum I have learned so much from you guys. My modelling has improved immensely. One thing however, still defats me - PE. Or rather shaping it. Seat belts etc are no problem. Its the other things like handles, belt buckles etc. The straps on the ammunition boxes of eduards Me110 was a nightmare. My eyesight isnt what it once was (who's is?) but not that bad to move from 1:48 to 1:32. Do you have any tips that might be useful? What I currently do is fix a piece of double sided tape to my cutting mat and do it stick side up to stop it pinging off into the shag pile. I've tried bending it over cocktail sticks etc but it doesnt really work for me. I use a magnifyer and lamp which helps a lot but the pieces are so small it looks like my hand is shaking like an old MFI wardrobe!
