    Camera

    Hi Chaps,
This is just a quick garnering of suggestions if you don't mind :smiling3:
I've been using my phone to take, and upload pics of my blogs for years now.
Thing is, I'm fed up with clogging up said phone with loadsa pics.... I need that for work stuff really!
SO,do any of you use a simple,"point and squirt" digital camera to take your pics?
I don't wanna pay the earth, and it'd ONLY used for those modelling pics,if anyone could suggest such a thing then I'd be VERY greatful
    Cheers,
    Andy

Or you could get a cloud storage area to keep the photos? That way you can keep using your phone but keep it clear of model pics.

Which make of phone is it? You may have cloud storage built in, so to speak, or be able to stick a memory card into it to expand the storage you have available.

In any case, IMHO a phone or tablet is fine for taking model photos — I used to use a digital camera, but after I got an iPad I soon stopped using the separate camera altogether.

I too used to use a small canon power shot camera for bench pictures, but now only use an IPad. They are more convenient because I only upload to the site rather than to a PC then to the site. When it starts filling up I upload those I want to my PC, clear it out, and start again…If you do want a small camera the power shot range are good. They use SD cards so in effect have infinite memory.

            Thanks guys,
I have an "OPPO", Which does take pretty good pics
However,I don't like the cloud stuff, sometimes it just seems to take over with things, rearranging and moving my personal info without me even knowing !!...
... In fact occasionally I've wanted to delete things and been told by "The almighty Cloud" that, and get this...
            .... I DON'T HAVE PERMISSION!!
            ...
            .... Erm ,EXCUSE ME .....
            ITS MY BLOODY STUFF !!
Fed up with all this bulls**t !!

Agree with you there. The more “automated “ things become the harder they are to control. I don’t really use cloud access at all. I make do with a desktop PC (dont even like laptops much) with a couple of stand alone hard drives as back up. The iPad is really only used for web stuff and model pictures.

I use a webcam for some of my "in progress" photos. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-L.../dp/B009BT67A8
Bought a cheap ring light ( sold for people doing selfies ) from B&M store.

Andy for some time I used my cameras, both Cannons Inc a 5 D , fantastic , but for close up and with out any trouble with settings I started to use my phone.
You could start albums on here if you want to store the modelling photos, then delete on the phone .
How much storage do you have on the phone ?

I take the photos with My phone and upload them to my PC. then delete them from the phone. Job done.
Having said that I do also have a google drive and a One drive. so if I get short of room on my laptop I move some to one those.
In some ways a pain but its handy; when you have a laptop, a desktop and a tablet, that you can see the pictures on any one of them.

I have a Panasonic bridge camera which I have had for many years and it has served me well. I changed my phone about 6 month ago for an Oppo, around £100. It takes far better photos than my camera. Technology has moved on at such a pace that now the phone is better than, what was at the time, quite a decent camera.

I got a open-box Fujifilm SL240 off ebay for silly money < £50 - does all I need, and has many more features that I can understand, let alone use! It's never been outside & I just use it for piccies of my models. It has a top setting of 14MP, but I dial it down to half that, you can set that in one of the tens of menus................

I use a Panasonic DMC-FZ35 bridge camera which was originally for the USA market. In Europe it's called the FZ38. Identical cameras! Cheap as chips - £30 on ebay.
Simple point and click, (which I always use) or all singing all dancing (Which I never use, 'cos I wouldn't know how to!) Powerful zoom lens too....
