His passing killed my tiny mojo in 2020....
Just saying, all those threads ive read so far are excellent

Mr T took model making to the next level and shared his techniques openly, learnt so much from him.
        Gone but never forgotten.

He too was my mentor and had an answer to all my queries and questions. Its sad that he is no longer amongst us but he will never be forgotten. An element of his work can always be seen in my builds. One of the good guys

He always pushed me out of my comfort zone on any build I posted. I think that’s what I miss the most of all about him always encouraging you to take it a step farther and he also helped me on mold lines take the time and get rid of them no matter where they was if Eagle Eye caught a mold line on one of my builds he was polite but Stern to tell me I’m a better modeler than that. He will always be missed.

Agree with everything said, Simon was the most generous person when it came to offering help and like Lee says encouraging you .
Simon did a internal drawing of factory for me for the T34' breaking through the wall diorama, we had great fun as well attempting to do an oil spill in a ditch . Things I will never forget .

I never met him, sadly, but more than anything I remember his inventiveness and perseverance. Remember the Cosford build….only use what is in the box….so he made filler from the sprue and a diorama backdrop from the box……great examples of the former.
Julie and Wabbit were an example of the latter, as was the polythene tank shell. How many times did he fill and sand that thing……
                  Sadly missed….

Like most of you,Simon was a true inspiration, friend and mentor to me too.
Many a PM,book, and even the occasional resin piece that he'd cast were exchanged.( I still have about a dozen Vickers MGs and ammo that he kindly posted to me, completely out of the blue,to help with a WW1 Dio I was doing).
I still regularly think of him, with sadness obviously, but also with a smile,as he was, after all,a true "virtual buddy".

P.S. Great thread Nick, nice one mate

I don't think there is anyone here that was not inspired or helped by Simon. He was such a giving person and and asked for nothing in return. I most remember his Tamiya Panther build. There wasn't a piece that he didn't modify, scratch or just plain correct on the whole build. He always had a way of helping folks without ever being condescending to them and in a most upbeat manner. One of his ways that still sits deep in me, is the fact he rarely finished something and I'm the same way too. Not a bad thing, just the truth.....I miss him..........
