Moving on in the modelling world.

I am doing a bit of modelling and doing the RC tanks however, health has certainly deteriorated more in the past couple of years.

In fact, it has changed so much that my thinking is starting to move away from building and heavy RC stuff and concentrate on maybe a model railway in the work shed, once all the gear is gone.

I have had to give up golf, drumming and now fishing and the hand and finger pain and tremors are meaning more things are just getting harder to do.

Just something I am mulling over and maybe will start next year.

    Si,
It is a shame that due to health reasons you have to give up on your hobbies and past times. But your main priority is your health so do what you need to do. Take care.

      Hi Si
A real shame that your health has forced you to give up doing things you love. However I admire your attitude, your acceptance of what you can't change. So I say "play the hand you've been dealt" and I look forward to seeing your model railway take shape.

        Si,
it's a real wrench when your health causes lifestyle changes, you can fight against it for so long, but eventually it has to be acknowledged. You adapt, as well as you can, but you have to accept it. I had to make major changes when I was diagnosed diabetic. - but that was 20 years ago & recognising your limitations makes your choices simpler - not easier, just simpler.
        All the best
        Dave

Ta guys. As you say, ill health and just getting older means many of us have to modify our hobbies. Nothing written in stone but, it is something I am giving some serious thought to.

Bit of a bugger Si. Great that you have a forward plan though. There is tons of good OO stuff out there these days so there is plenty to enjoy.

Yeah, have been looking at stuff, the work shed has power, insulated etc so no problems there. Once emptied, new lino fitted it can be designed to fit a railway. I do not want to give up modelling 100% as, although I am finding it harder and harder, I can still use some of the limited talent I have in making, painting bits for the railway.

Like you said Tim, just some forward planning.

Ain't none of us getting younger. It is a sad thing to give up on things that you enjoy so much. But as others have said, make the best of the hand you are dealt.
If Life throws you lemons, make G&T's and get pyjamaed.

PS IF anyone wants (to buy) about £30k of fishing tackle drop me a line.

30k worth of fishing gear, what you got...a boat?!

Totally agree Ian, we do our best. Hence why I am getting my brain used to the fact that I have to change my hobby outlook and try and have something that can replace what I have now.
