Must admit that I'm of the 'introduce yourself' frame of mind - in fact as Pete (stillp) can attest, the forum I 'own' (UCAF) has just that 'protocol' - if, after all, you're coming on to pick folks brains in how things are done and other information which has been built up over years (often totaling well into the 100's of years of experience when taking into account the number of people on the forums & the years they've been doing the hobby), then it's only polite to say who you are, and be prepared to offer any help you can.
