I can open my own airport

For xmas I got a small RC helicopter which is really good fun once I get the hang of flying it, also my son got another 3 so now we have 4 of them, 2 of them have lasers so you can shoot them down.

I can't believe how many we got

Now that sounds like good fun. Just make sure the dog doesn't get hold of them!

A couple have turned up at the boat club recently and we were thinking of having a few at one meeting. I need to get trained up.

Hmm these are quite tricky to fly, all I can seem to do is get it to go up, forward and crash, unlike the guy in this video

I've tried altering the trim but can't seem to get it to respond, anyone know where I'm going wrong?

Sounds like a lot of fun there John,

That looks very much the same as the Heli I was looking at in Maplins (I did put up a separate post on here about them)

From what I have seen in discussions about this helicopter, most owners actually put a small amount of weight in the front to give it some forward momentum and therefore gain some sort of normal flight....That's the only way you can do it with these as they are only 2 channel and you don't have any swashplate to operate the rotorhead as per the larger versions.

I have seen some videos where they have managed to coax reasonable flights out of them.

Do a search on "Syma" on Youtube - you will find plenty of videos of this and the other 2 channel version they do.

I didn't get any such things for xmas but I don't mind as I have plenty of Models to keep me busy. I did end up playing several games of Call Of Duty 4 on the PS3 with my nephews - great fun in Multi-player mode where all 3 of us were fighting against each other !!

          Regards.........Mark.

I tried to fly a friends, just found that there was not enough control functions to get the helicopter to behave properly.

AHHA im not the only one stealing the kids toys LOL

Our boy has a helo in blue looks really nice and flys well

All was going fine till i dived it into my wifes hair. I blaimed it on lack of control she blamed it on the twit flying.

The trim switch is hopeless and needs a lot of heavy pressure to get it to work but it does work. Only problem is it needs trimming every flight.

              Merry flying

                  Hi All

I have one of those mini IR heli's and there are a few things that can help to get it to fly pretty well (i say i have one but in fact its more had !! as i gutted it to use the parts to start making a little foamy airplane hehe) to start with the tail trim on every picooz style heli is different ,some need 2 clicks on the trim while others need a good 15 or more clicks to trim. The number of clicks you give will allways be around the same so remember just how many times you did click so that when you take flight give it the clicks it needs straight away(youll be very close each time) another thing is the tail rotor , if the tail still wont hold you can take the blades in between your fingers and twist them to adjust the pitch. Very important !!! These things are ground cleaners!! what i mean is they love getting hairs and dust on the axes, check your main rotor and tail often(one hair on the rotor shaft can throw it out)

The pitch on the main rotor can be changed also by twisting the blades.

I had so much fun with mine and i could fly it all over the place under the table etc, one thing to remember though is they will rotate left on the spot and fly more in a curcuit to the right .

                  i hope this helps
