    Well this us fun....not

The good lady and I was visiting the Middle ages center and having a nice day out yesterday.

Then I rolled my ankle on a cobbled path.

Today after four hours get to find out it's broken. Only a little bit, but broken. So I now have a boot. I might get a call tomorrow telling me to come back for a cast. Yeah!?

Owwwwwww! I did the same thing back in high school, while playing basketball.......did not break but a really band sprain. Sure puts a "hitch" in your git along! Looks like you'll have plenty of time for the hobby bench while your ankle heals up.

A similar thing happened to me some years ago. Went to the hospital, had an X-ray just sprained they said. 12 days later got a letter from said hospital asking me to come back I’d broken my ankle and it needed potting.
I hope you get well soon Ian.

          Hi Ian
          What a @#£#&+*!!!
I hope you don't need a cast. As others have said you will be able to sit at the bench.
          Wishing you well.

That’s a bit of a bugger Ian. No tap dancing for you for the time being then….

I did something similar about fifteen years ago. Went for an X ray to find it was only sprained. I say “only”, it swelled up like a beach ball and hurt like the devil for about six weeks. Still more inflamed than the other one after all this time. Interestingly, the specialist noticed I was holding my arm a bit funny, because that was the one I fell on, and insisted I had that X rayed as well. Turned out I had broken my elbow…..so I had a sprained right ankle and a broken left elbow immobilised at the same time…..not fun at all.

Just be aware that even after it heals it will be weak for a long while and prone to doing the same thing if you are not careful.

BTW, is the Middle Ages center a nice way of saying you were visiting the Shady Rest Home and looking for a room for when you get older???....Just wondering...Please take care Sir...

                      Prost

Ouch !unlucky Ian , as Allen says, is the middle age centre a day care facility for middle aged people , in training for the old age home , with courses on napping , bingo and slipper etiquette …. or is it a theme park set in the middle ages !

Ouch! Ian...that must have hurt. Been through a couple of sprained ankles compliments of bad school grounds caked with potholes. You'd think you're playing golf instead of hockey. Somehow it has strengthened my ankles. You will need to have blood circulate around the bruised area. My mum used to massage my ankle with Chinese snake oil and I end up laughing and crying at the same time. Take care and get that knitting needle as Scottie has advised...it will come in handy.

                            Cheers,
                            Richard
