I started the day yesterday in London (c. 40°) and finished it in Kendal (c. 20°) - bliss!

It’s apparently the largest marching event in the world, held since 1909 (interrupted only by wars and COVID), and a major thing in this country — as well as abroad, given the numbers of people from other countries taking part. I don’t see the fun in it myself, though

Been really fortunate to not have to endure the extreme heat where we are. Spent a w/end in Grantham in 2019 in a non a/c travelodge and it was way too hot so I can only sympathise. 36 degrees I recall!

Daytime highs of just 28 degrees by the coast here in Anglesey is just about endurable overnight. Helped by offshore breezes for much of the last week or so have also made it much more bareable.

Inside the mancave however has been a no go zone with the thermometer showing mid to high 30's. Checked as much plastic as I can and thankfully all seems to have survived without melting or warping. I do worry about paints and other bottled liquid products though!

I'm convinced weathering products like liquid mask and some MiG enamel stuff have definitely suffered in the past and prematurely dried out due to excessive and prolonged high temperatures.

Hopefully no surprises when I do eventually venture back:smiling3:

I doubt plastic parts would be affected — they don’t get soft and bendy when you hold them in your fingers, after all Paints etc., though, thinner will evaporate a bit faster than at lower temperatures so it might just push some over the edge, when they were close to it already, I suppose.

I forgot to screw the lid on a new pot of Tamiya extra thin a while back Next day it was down to half. And it was not even that warm!!!
I can advise that Aircraft kits are more affected by excessive heat than Armour. Fuselage and wing parts can and do warp and twist especially if off the sprue.. and has soft plastic.
