I think my mojo has upped and left. Everytime I get to the bench it's as if I can't be bothered with it anymore, which us frustrating as there is plenty to do. I don't want to force myself to do any as this will make it feel like a chore. It's been like this for a couple of the now. I suppose I will just have to sit it out until it returns.
My mojo has gone

Happens to us all at some point in time. Often a Summer condition. Early symptoms are: lawns needing to be cut, weeds pulled, windows painted, gutters repaired. Once you have gotten into the grove of "can't be bothered, its to darn hot/cold/wet/dry, just need to.... Well its down hill from there and the Model building takes a hit from the same symptoms!Comment

Unfortunately it happens Paul. I think most of us have had times when we can't be bothered. Ian is right that it is often a summer issue. I'm sure things will soon return to normal and you'll want the sit at the bench and cut some plastic.Comment

i recently went through the same
just finished something i really enjoyed but just couldnt get up the enthusiasm to start something else.....took a month or so to get the mojo back
i used to deal with mojo loss by just walking away, having a break and come back when i felt like it but i know have a different approach which seems to be working for me
a long time ago i used to be into kit cars and i knew someone who built one as a form of rehabilitation have a very serious accident........he told how some days he could happily spend 8 or 9 hours in the garage working away but then go weeks being unable to due to depression/pain/further operations but his way of dealing with it was that every day no matter what he would do something in the garage........even if it was simply putting in a single bolt or tightening a screw
so thats what i do......when the urge is there i will spend hours at the bench but when its not i will at least do something everyday....even if its paint a wheel or glue two bits together and nothing else.......seems to be working for me........there always seems to be 'progress'Per Ardua
We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no ones beenComment

I use the same strategy as Paul. It happens to everyone occasionally, especially when you are caught in the tedium spiral of preparing interminable track parts, or adding numberless airframe decals. Let’s face it, some modelling jobs are simply mind numbing and quickly sap your will to continue. I find that if I do something, no matter how small, the progress you eventually see recharges the mojo.Comment
