When we lived in Scotland we went to a few smaller, local games. Even though minor compared to Braemar some of the performances were incredible.
Well done Kyle. You must be very proud.

Aileen's son-in-law Kyle was at the Braemar Gathering again this year where he won the Heavies events - again:

Two weeks ago he became Glenfiddich Scottish Highland Games Champion for 2025 and the King presented him with the prize for that as well.

        Well done Kyle!

Wow. That's some achievement. Well done indeed. That photo is one to stick up on the mantle piece.

                Thanks, everybody.

Kyle followed that up by winning the 'Heavies' title at the Blairgowrie Highland Games on Sunday.

What were the events, if you don't me, as a complete ignoramus to the format, asking?

PS: Your username includes Cov, don't suppose this means you were originally a Coventry local were you?

I am not sure if I have the terminology totally correct but I believe the 'Heavies' events at Braemar are below (other Highland Games may have other events and not all of those listed):

Tossing the Caber (Length 19'9" - Weight 129lb), Tossing Braemar Caber (Length 20'1" - Weight 137lb), Putting the Stone (Weight 28lb), Putting the Stone (Weight 16lb), Scots Hammer Throw (Weight 22lb), Scots Hammer Throw (Weight 16lb), Weight for Distance (Weight 56lb), Weight for Height One-handed over bar (Weight 56lb)

I do not come from Coventry, it is my surname.
