Apologies in advance for the boasting but my partner Aileen's son-in-law, Kyle, has become well known on the Highland Games circuit up here in Scotland and beyond. This Daily Record article explains quite a bit about his progress in the Highland Games.
I took this photo a few years ago but it gives you a good idea of the size of a caber!

This year he has retained the Glenfiddich title for top Scotsman and can clinch the overall title too (all nationalities) if he gets enough points at the Braemar Gathering today (3rd September 2022) and Aileen and her daughters are up there supporting him today.
Talking of which, if you are curious as to what goes on at a Highland Games event, there is a live stream of the Braemar Gathering at:
Unfortunately, Kyle has taken part in four events so far and I haven't caught a glimpse of him yet! He has come first in one event, second in two more with a fourth underway as I write this.
Warning, if you find bagpipes annoying, you may need to hit the mute button or put some cheese in your ears a la 'Allo 'Allo!
