In the middle of building RAF C103J-30 (C4) no real problem here but also building along side a C1K, problem is did the RAF adopt the outer wing refuelling pods or just the single drogue extending from the rear cargo door, if pods were used can anyone supply aircraft serial number, colour scheme and date operated, the RAF only converted 5 aircraft 3 have been scrapped and 2 sold to Sri Lanka, image would be a bonus, one Herkulian task regards Ray

Seem to remember one of my buddies tanking off of "what seemed like a really long C-130" from an outer wing pod/drogue in Afghanistan. (He made a big deal about it since he was tanking at night on goggles for the first time). I'll have to ask him about it - get back to ya.

Hi Mike, many thanks for the contact, I think you refer to the US Marine, Navy and Airforce C130's which do operate with the out board wing pods some variants also have the cargo ramp drogue my quest is to find a RAF C130, C1K with these outer wing pods, anyway if you do come up with any info on the RAF aircraft will be very interested, regards RayComment

 Howdy Ray,

I live about 70 miles from the largest c-130 base in the world, The Little Rock Airforce base in Jacksonville, Arkansas (just north of Little Rock).

I have some photos of c-130's somewhere but i am not sure of exactly which aircraft there are. I do remember a British C-130 as well as an australian one that I have photographed. What i remember most about them was the strange nose on the planes.

but I am wandering off topic lol......

The little rock air force base trains c-130 pilots from all over the world, any nation that flies the c-130 or its variants, probably recieve training right here in my state.

you might look at this link http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=little+rock+air+force+base&gbv=2 and browse thru some of the photos or, try any of the 17 pages of photos here: http://www.littlerock.af.mil/photos/

or, visit any of the related links here: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=little+rock+air+force+base&gbv=2&ie =UTF-8&sa=N&tab=iw

I will go thru my old pictures and see what I can find. I do have a few photos from last years airshow but i dont think any are of the variant you want.

You might even try emailing the contact person at the base, sometimes they can help ya in your search.

 Have a good day,

 Greg
