Been working my stash since 89 and at a fever pitch since semi-retiring in 01. I'm down to one kit untouched & maybe ten incomplete, but mostly I build them when I get them, or rebuild them if I'm displeased w/them. I think I've rebuilt my sWS' 3 or 4 times.

Oh dear, I've got them stacked against the walls downstairs, upstairs in three rooms and still lagging behind some of the guys here. There's a local guy here that has bought an extra apartment to stash his kits since the baby arrived or his SWMBO will throw him out. :smiling6: So I think you're safe for now.

 Cheers,

last time we moved i realised how big the stash was and decided to drastically reduce the numbers i bought........and the money i didnt spend on kits i spent on paint or airbrushes or other tools that were always on the 'nice to have' list....that way what i did build from the stash got better, if that makes sense,....so it wasnt a money saving thing lolPer Ardua

I was hoping Dave would join in with this thread, go on Dave, give us a pic. For the record, I'm down to six.
Look at me six kits - and now off work with Covid - there might be something in this strange statement, I'm off to ebay, just in case !Comment

I have finally realised I am in the S.A.B.L.E. club and market my E-bays sales as such.
 (Stash Acquired Beyond Life Expectancy)
I am currently down to 414 after being at 520 before starting the fire sale on E-Bay.
I do have some 50+ stashed in a box/shelf/tool chest in the garage, which haven't been added to Scale Mates yet!
I have several "retirement" projects I am collecting and am hanging onto Shermans, T34s, Pz's I, III, IV, VI, Stugs, Tank transporters, Spitfires and Bf-109's
The remainder are slowly going week by week along with many of the figures that don't fit any of the above projects or saved kits.
This year I haven't bought a kit, just some figures and consumables.
I have been gifted 3 kits which do fit into future projects.
It is hard not to get another kit, but I'll never build it, so I guess I am finally getting there, I just need to finish something.
I am an addict, just in control, for now LOL
 Regards

What's worse than having a stash of kits is having a stash of kits each with a load of aftermarket extras and figures to go with them!

I too am a member of the SABLE club, My excuse is that sculptimg busts takes up far too much time.

here's an idea to save money And contain the size of your stash:

1 - from memory make a list of all the models in your stash
2 - obviously, any kits not on the list you will have forgotten,
3 - give the list to your wife and tell her any kit not on the list can be wrapped up for your Christmas present.

I have too many kits really, I haven't bought any new ones this year though, avoiding ebay helps & haven't been to model shops much this year. That said, I haven't built much this year either, due to things such as working on my old Land Rover & family funerals sapping the mojo. With the dark evenings I may get a bit more done.Comment
