Very interesting stuff. Did you see the Tomcat with the "smoke" generating afterburner?

I like the Tamiya Spit with the prop action. Nice model as well.

yea i saw the F-14, pretty good. the hind is pretty impressive too!

wouldnt mind deciding which i would want to make and over time get the bits (as they are quite expensive) so that in a few years time i can get on with the model.

I have a fellow I fly with who specializes in this sort of thing - making electronic conduits with light, sounds, etc. He's known for giving very good deals to people who order stuff. Even though most of his stuff is limited to movie props, I'm sure he'd more than consider working on something for models.

The RC model boat world is now taking off with all sorts of lighting effects, micro servo's, sound systems and micro-processors available.

I am always a bit cautious as I think it is easy to get involved with technology for the sake of technology and go too far. This can then detract from the model itself and become a display of lights and sounds.

All the ones on this link look superb but I can't help but smile when a model sails past on the pond making all sorts of gun, siren and engine noises when, in reality, you would hear very little noise from most of the ship.
