Any recommendations for a good pair. Narrow and hard and sharp.

Sprue snips are housed feet away from side & diagonal cutters.

I have a pair (set?) of Xuron cutters which I've been using for 3-4 years now which I find do the job just fine.

I've got the Xuron cutters that Dave mentioned, but keep them for the finer parts to cut.
For heavier use I've been using these for a few years,I recommend you give them a go, and at the price they're easily replaceable should you blunt or break them

I should've mentioned,I'm a Telemetry engineer/Electrical Fitter and use these on a DAILY basis for work,(although I keep another pair for modelling purposes),
Those Xurons are excellent, but,in my opinion, too good and expensive to use on anything more than fragile parts removal.....
Depends what you want them for I guess...

+2….Zuron 2175B railway track cutters for heavy stuff (mine are getting on for 30 years old and still work well) and the 2175ET lighter ones for finer cuts. Recently upgraded to the DSPAIE flush cutters for final cuts and recon I save about an hour a kit with them. Don’t bother until you have the other two sorted out though, they are a very “nice to have” luxury purchase, but far from essential.

First model show I went to had these exact same cutters in a scrap box on the counter for 50p a pair!

                        Ok,fair enough,if that's your experience with them.
I beg to differ, but then again,I can't be bothered to try and help any more.

Although they are perhaps overpriced because of the name I like Tamiya. I have two pairs, larger and smaller.

Me too - they're excellent, long-lived and easy on the hand! I love 'em so much I have spare pairs waiting in the wings! )And a Xuron for sprue butchery!)
