    Good to hear you're on the mend Dave, re opening tins, my mum has rheumatoid arthritis & reckons one of the best things she has is an electric tin opener.

      Not had that issue myself, but then most tins these days have ring pulls. I can find them problematic, it being difficult to get the ring lifted and pulled if your hands aren’t working properly. If your mum struggles with them, tell her a teaspoon really helps. The bowl end can easily get under the ring and lever it up, and putting the handle through the ring then makes it very easy to lever off the lid.

        I use a wooden spoon handle through the ringpull!
