    1:32 - 1:35 ??????????

    Hi all, I've just been given (by a very kind customer) an old Airfix 1:32 A-15 Crusader tank (with 8th army and afrika korps troops) kit which fit's in nicely with a diorama idea I've had stewing in the old grey matter for a while......problem.........can't seem to find a 1:32 scale Panzer III or IV so the question is can I get away with using a 1:35?

    Any advice would be most welcome, cheers chaps!

      If you take the hull length of your Panzer to be 592 cm Them the difference in length between a 1/32 and a 1/35 scale model will be 1.6cm.

      This will be pretty obvious if you put two models of the same subject side by side.

      Whether you can get away with it with two disimilar subjects is harder to say.

          Hi Chris, you might not get away with them side by side, but if you use whats called forced perspective...i.e., put the larger scale model to the front when taking the pictures, it would look fine.

          Together on an actual diorama, where you are looking at it from an overall overhead perspective, I doubt it.

          I hope that makes sense.

          There are Forces of Valor 1/32 Panzers about, but as you will know, they are diecast and expensive!

              Thanks guys,

              The plan is to have the A-15 driving passed a wrecked panzer which resting on a cambered side of a desert track but not sure it'll work, may have to re-think the dio.

                  Our Ref: FOV80227`if its anygood to you nearly £40 though

                      I've just had a look on ebay.....There is quite a selection of kits in 1/32 that were in Africa during WW2, so why not widen the choice away from a Panzer? It could be a knocked out Tiger 1, a Sherman or even an aircraft.....

                          use a 1/35 panzerIV and wreck it make it look burned out then the scale won't matter so much and it won't be so noticable.
