Poor show to see such cynical attitudes.

Hhhmm, wonder if he has had a scare with the TRUE cost for making these items?
Maybe the hourly rate was the killer, or the amount of hours required to make the said items, frightened him away from professional model makers?
Think he is looking to get it done on the cheap.
If anybody is even remotely thinking about taking this job on, find out what a model maker charges by the hour, before you submit a price, if you don't, then you're going to dud yourself BIG-TIME.Comment

i odnt know if vedesco has contacted anyone prior to his posting.... but i have put my pal onto him, maybe there is a solution there.....
but there is only one rate for a quality job...and thats the professional rate....
but radish1us -you are right many many people who contact commercial/ professional modelsmakers are frightened away by the costs, but if you want all the whistles and bells, want a bespoke product and a display case and you want the model to be transportable and to be 'durable' ( ie. not fall apart 2 weeks later after travelling back from a trade fair/ exhibition) then their will be a cost involved, and remember the overheads of premises, equipment and machinery.....and of course labour costs.....
we come across this pretty much on a daily basis....
client.... (gulps) and then says really that much for a model.......
yup it comes as a shock for many !!Comment

Don't know why they didn't just go for the plans as listed here:
RM220 - Juggernaut - Only £14.95 - My Hobby Store
This model is based on a Volvo Artic Cab and the trailer can be modified to what ever spec you wish, It is 5ft long when built. Surely that would do them as it is not expensive to build from those plans. (I have these plans and they are very impressive)

If he shells up the money in advance for a nice R/C Tamiya Truck and Trailer I could probably do it but it'd be finished in about 2018 and the truck might look a little second hand after that time! HEHEHComment
