      Typical plane, that … even if it hadn’t said Fairey right above it, I would have guessed it to be either British or French because of its generally weird and not overly attractive shape

            Not pretty, perhaps - first plane to exceed 1000 mph in level flight - raised the Air Speed record by 310 mph to 1,132mph in 1956 - even more surprising is that both the FD.2 survived - one is at Yeovilton, the other at Cosford

                On their Facebook page ICM say that there are 29600 rivets!

                  I assume injection moulded replaces the vacformed original - I wonder if any more of the diorama bases will re-emerge?
