This has just landed on my doormat after a two and a half month journey from Kyrgyzstan (where? you might ask).
Really looking forward to painting this one.

Great to see a horse sculpt that looks accurate. Most of them look like they’ve been training for the grand national…..that looks like a sturdy pony….

I must not blame AlanG for subliminally encouraging me to buy larger scale wingy things.....i am responsible for my own actions.....I must accept responsibility!!!

But wait......Andy The Smythe Meister has also been dabbling in 1/48 wingy things....has Alan got to him too!?!?!? :smiling5:
Even if it were true (I am not saying it is m'lud), I take no responsibility for the lack of will power displayed by our dear Andrew here. If it were indeed true then he would actually upgrade even further to 1/32 scale and become a true wingy thing modeller :smiling3:

Got this today, I think this set is discontinued.

Anyone remember the old Alan kits from the last century?? If you do them you know why I looked long and hard for this detail set! :smiling3: :smiling3:

Ok, so now I have got that out of my system, I managed to win both these with eBay bids a week or two ago, a few days apart. The bids were so last-second I had no idea if the bid had even been accepted until I won!!

It turned out both were from the same supplier and so I am in negotiations with the seller about getting some of the P&P refunded, given that the items were sent together - they have in principal accepted my request.

If I get my way on the P&P the Weekend Spit will have cost me £15.50....which will be the cheapest recent eBay purchase for this kit and a bit cheaper than most other Weekend editions I have found.

The ProfiPack 109 will be only have cost me £20 I get the postage discount I'm asking for.... so very pleased with that.

This brings my number of 1/48 wingy things to five....a 'short nosed' 109, the below 'long nosed' version, a Fw109 and two Spits.

I hadn't intended to get a second Spit but had thought about a plane with an all metal finish.....so had thought about get a Mustang or something similar. Then this Spit popped up.

It will also be my first post-war build as and when I get to it, as this plane in this scheme is apparently from some sort of air race in 1949.

                ATB.

Fun fact, I logged into the shop I got the Bismarck from as I had to make an order (masking tape) due to the rather nice sprue cutters with that daft name broke! I cut a bit of plastic sprue and a bit chipped off the cutting blade! Not a happy bunny. Wrote and told of my issue and they said "we will send you a new pair with your next order" So Masking tape was put in the basket. Then I saw they had the Bismarck, at a fair price (£30 cheaper than in DK) and the Big Ed set was on offer! -30% so it was rude not to....
Now you know why I got the greys in the other day.

Wow, gruel for the rest of the month then Ian……good of them to replace the cutters, the instructions do say not to use them for sprue, only part in-gates
