In a galaxy long ago and far, far away......
Ok, so in reality, Junior's bedroom mid-April last year as I was quarantined with COVID, I started my serious search for relevant nachtjäger kits for my Hunters and Hunted collection, with some advice from our very own Mod, Nachtjägd nut and pig expert AlanG.
One of the candidates from early/mid war was the Ju88 C-6. There is a very old 1970s Revell one of dubious quality doing the rounds, normally for £20+ plus P&P, a supposedly good Hasegawa one that goes for stupid money and normally has to come from Japan for stupid P&P on top and a 2013 'new' tool Revell of good quality that is based on their Ju88 bomber range of the same vintage, which are generally well received.
The Revell bombers come up pretty regularly but for some reason the C-6 night fighter version are like hens teeth; I have only seen three or four come up on eBay in 10 months of looking and they normally go for at least mid-£30s including P&P...too rich for my taste!
I had resorted to logging with a notification with Kingkit for a used one as and when they get one in stock. I've used them at least once for something else but heard nothing for almost a year.....then this popped up on Wednesday.....so I simply had too!!
I paid a bit more than I wanted but this is the one German night fighter I have been missing from my collection. The box is a bit battered but it is otherwise fine.
Oh and you will notice that I have got over the diversion of large(r) scale wingy things and returned to the one true scale!
ATB.
Andrew
N.B. I think the Z/N appendage at the end is Revell thing. I have found it nowhere online and a review I found also questions its authenticity.....personally I think it's Revell's way of denoting the fact you can make both Zerstörer (Z) and Nachtjäger (N) versions. If anyone knows differently please let me know.
