John, very nicely put. The best things about this site is the non judgemental banter and choice of builds. Also watching and learning from the great modellers on here.

I totally agree JR, feels like home on here. Like you I’ve got to know so many people around the globe which is a major plus. We have a great bunch of modellers on here and the banter is second to none. Long may it continue

Great thread John. I see this forum as my modelling club. To me the banter is as important as the actual modelling, and that’s what makes it feel like home. Being retired myself, it can be a great outlet on the days when I feel too tired or achy to get out and about, and during the Covid lockdowns it was an absolute life saver.

Y'all may recall I concentrated on an unfinished model RR during Covid. It and sharing my progress on the forum w/ya'll kept me on pace & engaged throughout the crises. Thank you. This is like home for me.

Well said John, I was a bit unsure about returning to modelling after so many years but joining this forum is the best thing I have ever done, the kind advice, swapping parts/kits and the general banter is something to treasure.

                Andy.

I agree John.I.used to belong to a couple of other forums which i wont name.I got pulled up once for not responding to a comment somebody had wrote.Got told it was bad form and rude not to be greatful to a comment made about a project.I did say well i dont live on the P.C or my phone 24/7 and on the whole i offer encouragement to others which i believe what we aim to do.Its nice to get feedback of course and i did use a couple of Anglo Saxon words that got me banned.

Certainly wont lose any sleep over it.Think on other sites egos are big and rather pretentious to some extent.

You hit the nail on the head Dude 2!!! This forum has fantastic folks, a wonderful atmosphere, and hilarious banter (I still think Mr. Smiff made that word up) to enjoy our shared hobbies. Prob is, I thought retirement would finally mean more bench time for me. Well, maybe I'm getting too old or too damn slow, but I still can't finish anything or even keep up with all the great work going on here. Why can't we have 36 hour days? Then I might have a chance at it...

Prost auf the SM forum and our host John, too!!!

Glad you put it out there JR, I've never been on another forum 'cept this one so I guess I'm a little biased/spoiled by my good fortune at having landed on a good'un. Tip 'O the Hat to Robin Buckland.......as it was he who gave me a "Heads Up" about this site.
Great bunch of folks on here and I have really enjoyed the Building, Banter and Comradery that keep us coming back!
