My idea was also to use steel rods as the tow cables, going through the M113 and into the base, of course. However, even in 1:72, I think you would have to find a way to get the whole thing strong enough not to wobble, and you would have to reinforce how the helicopter sits on top of them so it won’t snap off at some point. In 1:35, it’ll be even trickier with the greatly increased mass but not that much thicker rods to support it all …
Yes it probably would be doable......unfortunately and thankfully there is nothing available in that scale. I wouldn't be up to scratch building under a microscope either! :tears-of-joy: :tears-of-joy:

Build it in a clear plastic/ acrylic display case with the rotor tips ( or at least some of them) secured to the sides and lid ? Or in a dome ?

That might make it more doable, but at the cost of having the case be a major distraction …

If you consider the whole diorama as the model, then there is.

That picture reminds me of a story my brother told me many years ago. Whilst doing his underslung load training in a chinook they managed to take out a road sign.

A touch too low me thinks :smiling5:

Right Jakko, that would be the scratch building part under the microscope........something close to fifty buildings at last count!

Lots of cleanup painting & decals Rick. The structures, roads & gardening would keep you busy. You always need flowers for the garden.
