    Specific WWII planes

Is there a website or resource available where you can search for a specific aircraft of WWII?

I know that some of you build planes which are matched to photographs found online but I have no idea how to search by their numbers.

Can anyone give me some quick pointers?

    Thanks

A description and potted history of every Spitfire/Seafire built here by serial number.

      Spitfire - Main

Its much more difficult for the Luftwaffe, though there are lists of Werk Nummern in some references. You need specific references by type, like Dan O'Connell's Me262 Production Log or Smith and Creek's Do335 book. It's cheaper if you can't find them on t'internet to ask someone who has them.....like me (when I'm at home)

There is a good site for US Bureau Numbers which I seem to have misplaced!

      Cheers

I find a lot of mine by Googleing the serial numbers and or squadron codes. More often or not it finds something.
