    Forum downtime

Glad the site is back up John. Good suggestion to talk to the wife - I didn't know she doesn't work at Woolworth's now.

She made me sit through season one of 'Broadchurch' again (third time).

We that was a bit of a worry, I was updating the database on the server from v5 to v10, everything I read said it was pretty straight forward and things rarely go wrong, all I can say is I'm glad I took a database backup before playing, I did think I had lost everything even the files as I couldn't access the server, but I managed to get it and rescue them, everything should be working again, but as I had to format the server and reinstall everything there might be some things missing, any issues let me know and I will look in to it.

On a similar note, the reason why I had to update the database is because in about 8-12 weeks I will be changing the forum software to vbulletin, I'm just waiting for them to create an import file, once they have done it and we have manage to migrate the threads, posts etc the forum will need to be moved to their cloud based hosting, that will only be for about a week while we make sure there are no problems, then I will move it back to the server, so there will be a little bit of downtime.

Really? IMHO it’s not bad, but I like XenForo a lot more from a user’s perspective.

Glad you got it sorted in swift time John.
That 'talking to your wife 'lark. Phew!!! That's takes some planning. Wrote a few notes, what to talk about, what subjects to avoid. It was when I was blathering on about the weather when she twigged something was amiss!!
Then just as I was getting to grips with chatting away, my router went 't1ts up'. That was easy enough to fix, just tethered the mobile. But still a 502 warning from here!! Bother, back to talking.
Just to rub salt in my PS threw a DNS glitch last night.
That was it!! Kindle time - then Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
So gang, what you all been up to?
