Damn! I miss all the fun, site down and then being forced to talk to the wife. I do not talk to mine, it gets me jobs that I try to avoid. Like the other day the cooker packed up, I was informed by a curse (use your own imagination, hint, London docker talk) from the kitchen while indulging in my passtime of sofa lounging.... Poor chicken was still shivvering in the oven. peas and taters just starting to bubble away, Yorkie pud on standby.... Checked the fuse box and knew it was time to get the tools out (pliers, screwdriver- ratchet type for the use off) Red and Black wire had decided to mate and that is what blew the fuse. So while she was running around the neighbours with this naked half cooked chicken in a hot tray to see if they could put it in their cooker I enjoyed a happy ten minutes of quiet repairing the cooker.....Comment

Morning Wobble,
Yep poor Youngerthanme has a hard time of it, microwave burgers, imported beer, and playing count the bottle tops....
Please to see you are up and about.
Finally got the ASBO and housing manager to come see me next Friday. Perhaps then they can hear the truth for once, poor old lady has still got the brats playing football against her wall.

The server keep running out of space, but there is 40gb free, something keeps filling it, that is why the forum isn't working until I notice and clean it upComment

It’s the images that use up space. It’s easy with Macs to reduce a 4mb image to a few hundred kb’s. (Image Preview).
Do Windows machines have an app or programme that can do that?
If we all reduced our picture size it would help.Comment

You’ve got terminal access to the server, right? Then you could use ImageMagick to reduce the files that are already there, I would think? Though its syntax is the usual arcane incantations, making it a bit of a learning curve
And perhaps the forum software might complain about files modified without its permission.
However, I do wonder a bit how come there are large image files on the server at all, since XenForo appears to be quite good at resizing uploaded images and reducing them in file size as well.
Even better: right-click on the file so that a menu opens, go to the Quick Actions at the bottom of the menu, and choose Scale Image; a window will pop up that lets you choose how big to make it (“large” is big enough for this forum, you don’t need full-size). Also, make it a habit to uncheck the box that says you want to keep the metadata — the forum here will strip out the location data in the photo anyway, but some forums might not, and you won’t know until you check. Removing the metadata will guarantee that the location where you took the photo won‘t be included in the image.
If you want to resize more than one, select them all first and then right-click on one; the resize will apply to all of the images. In both cases, you will get a new file that’s been resized — it doesn’t affect the originals.
One small thing is that if you do this with files on your desktop when another app than the Finder is active, then the window that asks you for the image size will end up behind that app’s windows. A quick ⌘H solves that, though.
I highly doubt they can do it this easily
Also, if you’re using an iPhone or iPad, when you select the images you want to upload to a message, there’s a button at the bottom that lets you choose the image size.Comment

It does and it already uses imagemagick to do it, but I don’t know if it changes the resolution but does very little to the file size, and xenforo changes the names of the files to .data which doesn’t make it easy to check them.
I think I’ve fixed the problem, it looks like it was to do with file logs, I won’t know for certain for a day or 2, or until it happens againComment

Serious suggestion.
Would it be ok to remove the older builds, after all I would think that most members have their build on their pc and can refer back to them if they need to. I put mine on to cd's and store them away.Comment
