If you are lucky enough to have a decent car boot near you, then look out for real model building bargains, people get rid of surplus kits, materials, some great tools, books etc etc it can be a real hunting ground for stuff and I love digging out things that are of interest, one word of warning just make sure that kits have not been started and bodged,or bits missing such as cockpit canopies,it can happen, the best ones are the kits never opened obviously, just to give you an idea this is what I came back with today-
Sealed kit of Airfix Gnat, £1
Bag of decals,hundreds of them,£2.50
Duxford 1976 programme, 0.20p
Roll of soft wire, 0.75p
Extra long pointed pliers, 80p
Revell A.321 kit,sealed, £2.50
Big bottle of Aliphatic resin adhesive, 0.50p
Dremel minidrill tools,a real bargain this one, burnishers, sanding discs, cutting discs, drills, polishing mops £5 the lot
And another one with a mains/battery drill, new in box with even more spares £2
Some strips of wood,never used,various shapes, 0.75p
Surplus Humbrol enamel, aprox 30 tins for a pound ! never opened.
There was much more out there.
Have you had any good finds like these in the past at boot sales ?
PS-Car boot sales are probably called garage sales in other countries ?
