Just come across this post. I saw it at the time but then missed it.

Andrew is the venue shown in the photos the Boat museum, memory a lot of canal boats, on the South side of the Mersey ?

I was up there about 15 years ago & spent a great morning going through all the buildings which housed the museum.

sorry it has taken 3 months to answer but i only just noticed your post laurie whilst looking for something else. yes it is the ellesmere port boat museum or the national waterways museum as i think it is properly titled.
